Detailed directions to Soco Falls are provided below. From the parking lot, there is a short trail down to a very nice observation deck, that provides a really nice view of the falls. The photo below was filmed from the observation deck. The trail is not well maintained, and little rough in places. Soco Falls from the Observation Deck For the more adventurous, you can continue down a very steep steep trail from the observation deck, to view both falls from the bottom. There are some climbing ropes here that make the decent far more easy. While not terribly difficult, we would only recommend this fore more experienced hikers, and if you have hiking boots or shoes. Remember too, you have to be a able to climb back up. The reward for making this decent is a fantastic view of the creek, and both the 30 foot and 120 foot falls. As seen in this photo: Before reaching the Observation deck, there are some small trails that lead up the creek as well. There are some nice photo opportunities here as well, just be VERY careful to not venture near the top of the falls. >> See our Soco Falls Guide on our parent site Blue Ridge Mountain Life for more photos, video, and detailed information. Directions From Maggie Valley NC, take Soco Road (Highway 19) towards Cherokee, and climb up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Go under the Parkway, and continue for 1.5 files. .5 Miles before the parking lot, there will be a small blue sign that says “Soco Falls .5 miles ahead”. The parking lot will show up suddenly on your left. Be careful here, as it’s a dangerous left turn. We prefer to go on down, turn around and come back up, just to be safe.
